Current research

Hi, this is Qi. I live in Taiwan. I am writing a PhD dissertation on the politics of dispossession in Taipei and Shanghai. Since 2023, I have conducted multi-site fieldwork in rural settlements shadowed by high-tech and ecological urbanization projects. I am interested in understanding how rural residents negotiate, contest, and modify the rules of expropriation and eviction on the edges of the two cities.
