Hi, this is Qi. I live in Taiwan. I am writing a PhD dissertation on the politics of dispossession in Taipei and Shanghai. Since 2023, I have conducted multi-site fieldwork in rural settlements shadowed by high-tech and ecological urbanization projects. I am interested in learning how rural residents negotiate, challenge, and resist expropriation and eviction, set against the backdrop of shifting global political economies.
